Zora Mae Roberson, 84 of Martinsville, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019.
Born April 27, 1935 Zora was one of twelve children to the late Joseph and Della Mae Starkey Goode. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by husband Lynwood D. Roberson, sisters, Clarice Cundiff, Vestie Bennett, Cathlene Allison, and Nora Beck; brothers, Willie, Pat, Edgar, Albert, Aubrey, and Raymond Goode.
Left to cherish her memory include her sons, Stephen and Mark Roberson; granddaughters, Molly and Lindsay Roberson and their mother Heidi; brother, Randy Goode; special niece, Linda Baxley; and longtime special friend, Ray Bullins. Zora will also be missed by a host of other relatives and friends.
Zora was a member of Martinsville First United Methodist Church. She retired from DuPont, having worked as a Lab Technician. She was a lover of all food, especially home-made cakes and pies. She will be remembered for her family-famous deviled eggs. Zora was also a NASCAR® fan with a special love and following of Bill Elliott.
A graveside service will be conducted 12:00 pm Monday, June 24, 2019 at Roselawn Burial Park's Alcove of Peace with pastor Keith Richie officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 am, prior to the service, at Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home. Friends are also encouraged to visit at the home, 1615 Meadowview Lane, Martinsville, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Zora's memory to the Arthritis Foundation, 4419 Wallburg Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
