Willie Esther Brugh Hunley, 3541 Barrows Mill Rd, Martinsville, was born on February 2, 1929 in Welsh, WVA to the late Clyde and Nannie Merrix Brugh.  Early on Sunday, November 4, 2018 she left her physical body and went to her spiritual body and was called to be with her Father in Heaven after a short illness.

Esther, as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, grew up in Pembroke, VA. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, loving all the members as family as well as all of her dancing friends.

She met and married the love of her life Alfred D. Hunley on Mary 25, 1949 in Narrows, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, her son Carroll Michael Hunley and brother, Howard Brugh.

Esther's memories will be cherished in the hearts of her loved ones, son, Alfred D. Hunley, Jr. (Pat), daughter, Deirdre H. Honaker (Bill Maddox), and daughter-in-law, Sherry Hunley. Grandchildren, Stacey H. Wyatt (John), Wesley M. Hunley (Alissa), Lori H. Adams (Chad), Jason S. Hunley (Viv) and Great Grandchildren, Kelsey Wyatt (Cody), Tyler Adams, Madelyn "Maddie" Adams, and Kerrigan Hunley.  One nephew,Martin Brugh. Special faithful friends, Ann Culler and Brenda Russell.

The family will meet and receive friends at the home of her son, Alfred D. Hunley, Jr. at 4807 Snow Creek Rd, Martinsville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fairview Baptist Church, 663 Barrows Mill Rd. Martinsville, VA 24112.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Dave Boarman and Pastor Steve Pasley officiating.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
