Willard Adron Jones, age 84, of 728 Craig Street, Martinsville, died on August 03, 2011, at the Blue Ridge Rehab Center, Stuart. He was born in Franklin County on February 05, 1927 to the late Herbert and Ruth Perdue Jones.
He was a member of White's Chapel Baptist Church. He had retired from Bassett Furniture Industries with over 50 years of service. He was a former member of Patrick Henry Lodge #82 Knights of Pythias, the Martinsville High School Touchdown Club and was active in playing and coaching softball leagues in the area.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pauline Watkins Jones of the home, three sons, Eddie Jones of Stoneville, NC, Michael David Fulp of the home, and Michael Jones of Rocky Mount, two daughters, Shelia J. Goins of Martinsville and Valerie Holland of Rocky Mount, two brothers, L.H. Jones of Rocky Mount and Winsil Jones of Boones Mill, a sister, Dalphene Swanson of Rocky Mount, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 06, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home, with Pastor Jimmy Wood officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 05, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn.
