Virginia Adeline Cheshire Sims age 90, formerly of the Figsboro Community, went to be with the Lord on Thursday Sep. 23, 2015 at Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville. She was born May 27, 1925 in Leaksville, NC to the late Johnny Rosevelt and Carrie Harris Cheshire. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her husband Ralph Allen Sims, her sister Jean Cheshire, and one brother, John R. Cheshire, Jr.

Mrs. Sims was of the Methodist faith, and worked for over 30 years at Pannill Knitting as a hanger printer.

She is survived by one daughter and son in law, Claudia and Wayne Atkins of Martinsville, two brothers, Claude Cheshire and his wife Betty of Figsboro, Billy Cheshire of Figsboro, three grandchildren, Bonnie A. Lee and husband Daryl, Wayne Atkins, Jonathan Allen Atkins and wife Christy, five great grandchildren, Lara Lee, Michelle Lee, Jessica Lee, Andrew Atkins, and Christopher Atkins.

The graveside service will be Monday Sep. 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Roselawn Burial Park with Pastor David Westmoreland officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Monday in the Roselawn Chapel, and at other times at the home of her daughter Claudia at 6530 Dyers Store Road, Martinsville.
