Obituary

Viola Stovall Ramsey age 90, formerly of Collinsville, died Friday Jan. 4, 2013 at Golden Years Assisted Living. She was born April 14, 1922 in Patrick County to the late Homer Lee and Nannie Ruth Williams Stovall. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by one brother R.L. Stovall, and five sisters, Clara Pawley, Hattie Mae Spencer, Evelyn Smith, Lessie Stovall, and Eldean Yowell.

Mrs. Ramsey was a member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville for over 60 years, and was a member of the Iva Turner Sunday School Class. She had worked for Dan River Mills for 25 years, and later worked for Fieldcrest Mills for 15 years before retiring.

She is survived by one daughter, Gloria Goodman of Martinsville, two grandsons, Christopher Thomas Goodman of the U.S. Army, Fort Huachuca, Arizona, and David Allen Goodman of the U.S. Air Force, Charleston, SC , one brother, William Stovall of Patrick County, and one sister, Elizabeth Luttewitte of St. Louis, MO.

The funeral service will be Tuesday Jan. 8, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel with Rev. Larry Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the Chapel, and at other times at the home of her daughter, Gloria Goodman.
