Obituary

Vera Lee Rogers Dollarhite age 92 of Collinsville died Saturday February 27, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. She was born February 20, 1918 in Stokes County, NC to the late Walter William and Susan Banie Hill Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband David W. Dollarhite in 1997, two brothers, Joe and Glen Rogers, and two sisters, Dorothy R. Bateman, and Ruth R. Woods.
She was a graduate of Francis Cove High School in Stokes County, NC, Class of 1936. She was a life long member of Collinsville Church of the Brethren, and retired from the mail department at Bassett-Walker after 36 years.
She is survived by three sons, David Lee Dollarhite of Woolwine, Roger D. Dollarhite of Franklin County, William "Bill" Dollarhite of Martinsville, two daughters, Mary Louise Gibbs of Bassett, and Judy Hodgkin of Walnut Cove, NC, Three brothers, James Rogers of Collinsville, Morris Rogers of Bassett, and Paul Rogers of Conway, SC, 10 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 5 step great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Tuesday March 2, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Collinsville Church of the Brethren with Rev. Roy McVey officiating. Interment will follow in the Slate/Rogers Family Cemetery in Asbury(Stokes County), NC. The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 1:00 PM on Tuesday prior to the service at Collinsville Church of the Brethren, and at other times at the home of her daughter, Mary Louise Gibbs at 125 Westover Drive, Bassett.
