Velven Adell "Pinkie" Gibson, age 97, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Saturday, April 03, 2010 at NHC Health Care in Madisonville. She was born on June 2, 1912 in Rockingham County, NC to the late John Snead Ziglar and Ollie Smith. She was also preceeded in death by one son, Steve Gibson as well as three brothers and five sisters. Mrs. Gibson was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Kenneth O. (Betsy) Gibson of Madisonville, KY, one sister, Ethel Baker of Mayodan, NC, four grandchildren, Kenneth O. Gibson Jr., Edward F.(Jennifer) Gibson, Laura Ann (Carlo) Canapa, and Emily (John) Armstrong as well as five additional grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. The graveside service will be held on Friday, April 09, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Burial Park, in Martinsville, VA with Brother Rick Vaughn officiating . There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may take the form of the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
