Trula Barker Clark, 92, of Martinsville, died Saturday December 25, 2021 at Senior Care Home under the care of Mountain Valley Hospice. She was born in Gretna Virginia on September 22, 1929, to the late Berkley Dewey and Emma Bernice Howell Barker.  Trula was a 1948 graduate of Gretna High School, attended Perry Business School, graduate of Southern Bible Seminary where she received her Doctorate of Theology, member of Fuller Memorial Baptist Church, volunteer for more then twelve years at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville, volunteered for the American Red Cross and was retired after 42 years of service with Piedmont Trust Bank. In addition to her parents Trula was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Clark, brothers, Curtis O. and Robert Edward Barker, sisters; Juanita B. Franklin, Martha B. Doss, Frances M. Barker, Virginia B. Brumfield, Hilda B. Wilson and Betty B. Hines. Surviving are sisters; Carolyn B. Goad, Elaine B. Clark  and Nellie B. Pickurel, granddaughters; Lisa C. Garrett, Sheila C. Scott, Denise C. Byrd, great granddaughter, Amanda L. Scott and other nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Thursday December 30, 2021, at Fuller Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Fred Hardin officiating, interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church and other times at the home of Trula's sister, Elaine Clark.
