Thad "Stump Jumper" Watts, Jr., age 53 of Martinsville, died Thursday June 17, 2010 at Woltz Hospice Home, in Dobson, NC. He was born February 3, 1957 in Wilkes County, NC to the late Thad, Sr. and Agnes Ball Watts. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a step son, Lee Cassell.
He was a graduate of East Wilkes High School in NC, and was a truck driver for 35 years, most recently employed by Marshall Trucking until he became disabled. He was a member of Stone Memorial Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife Jean Watts of the home, one step son James Keaton of Bassett, two step daughters, Jodi Underwood and Michelle Maxie of Collinsville, six step grandchildren, and one step great grandchild.
The memorial service will be Friday night June 18, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Stone Memorial Christian Church with Pastor Tim Wood officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1079 Spruce Street, Martinsville, VA 24112.
