Sylvia Davis Deskins age 78 of 75 Antler Trail, Martinsville died Sunday March 14, 2010 at her home. She was born November 30 , 1931 in McDowell County, WV to the late Joe E. and Della Z. Addair Davis. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ira Howard Deskins in 1981, one son, Larry Dean Deskins, three grandchildren, Ronnie Joe Deskins, Tonya Marie Deskins, and Jeffery Dean Deskins, and three brothers, Frank, Mike, and Arber Davis.
She was a homemaker, and attended Clearview Gospel Mission.
She is survived by five sons, Earl H., Ira Lee, and Eldon Joe Deskins of Martinsville, Ronald Deskins of Collinsville, and Michael Deskins of Stuart, two daughters, Connie Deskins of Martinsville, and Joan E. Rose of Atwell, WV, four brothers, Eugene Addair of Claypool Hill, VA, Bob Davis of Bassett, Hascal Davis of Martinsville, and Homer Davis of Collinsville, four sisters, Lucille Logan of Axton, Anna Sawyers of Henry, Jane Logan of Greenville, WV, and Hattie Collison of Bartley, WV, 18 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Wednesday March 17, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Susan Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM on Tuesday March 16, 2010 in the Roselawn Chapel, and at other times at the home on 75 Antler Lane, Martinsville.
