Sybil Parker passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Sybil was born in Smyth County, Virginia on December 9, 1940. Sybil was the daughter of the late Thomas Burgess and Rhoda Gillespie Burgess. Sybil retired from Sara-Lee.

Sybil was loved by everyone that had the privilege of knowing her. Her family was most important to her. She loved her three sons, five grandchildren, and three-great-grandchildren with all her heart.

In addition to her parents, Sybil was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph David "JD" Parker, Sr., nine brothers, and one sister. She leaves to cherish her memory , three sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory and Shirley Parker, Joseph and Joyce Parker, and Thomas "Zack" and Karen Parker, one brother Curtis Burgess, Sister, Lois Tuggle, five grandchildren: Joshua "Josh", Ashley, Lukas, Sophia, and Emma, three great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon, at Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home. All other services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations in memory of Sybil to the charity of your choice.
