Stanley Keith Grant was born July 15, 1930 to the late Keith
Merton Grant and Mary Ann (Eckmann) Grant of Iroquois South
Dakota. He went to be with our Lord at the age of 90 on
Monday, December 7, 2020 in Martinsville, Virginia. He was
preceded in death by his parents and his eldest son Stanley
Keith Grant Jr. from Marin County California in 1973.
Stan began accomplishing great things at an early age! In 4-H
club between the ages of 14-16 he won many a blue ribbon for
raising baby beef, his largest 1185 pounds. Upon graduation
from high school, he attended Tulsa University in Tulsa
Oklahoma earning a bachelor's degree and Law Degree in 1958.
He joined the U.S. Air Force to attend flight School and ended his service as a Captain in the Judge
Advocates Division in 1964 and then joined the Judge Advocates Division of the U.S. Army at
Presidio, California. He transferred to Norfolk, Virginia where he retired in 1994 and moved to
Martinsville, Virginia. He was a Shriner and a 32 nd Degree Mason!
Stan was a history buff. I do not think he missed an Historical Marker anywhere in the U.S or while
serving in Okinawa, Japan. He loved photography and really was quite good. He was light on his
feet and his tall physique and strong shoulders earned him many accolades and medals in
competitive Ballroom Dancing for over 10 years.
His strong faith in God and testimony to others brought him many blessings. He enjoyed video
taping Sunday Services to be re-broadcast to shut-ins for his church families in Martinsville, VA.
God blessed him with an amazing family! Stan is survived by his wife, Margaret "Peggy" Grant of
the home; her daughter Tracy Grillo, Granddaughter Elizabeth Coles of Bedford, VA; her son William
"Bill" Grillo and wife Julie Grillo, Grandsons Jacob and Justin Grillo of Fort Collins, Colorado; her son
Robert Worthy, Granddaughter Jazzmon Worthy and Great Grandson, Granddaughter Samantha
Worthy and Great Grandsons Carter and Cayden Worthy of North Carolina.
His daughter Sharon Louise Taylor and husband John Taylor of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Granddaughter
Jessica Austin and husband Justin Austin, Great Grandsons Cole Austin, Chase Austin, Cooper Austin,
Great Granddaughters Addy Austin, Gracie Austin, Sophie Austin of Grove, Oklahoma.
Granddaughter Bonnie Taylor and Jeff Richardson, Great Grandson Amauri Richardson, Great
