Shirley Williams Johnson Yates, 81, of Bassett, passed away Saturday October 16, 2021, at her residence. She was born on May 21, 1940, to the late Raymond and Alice Lucas Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her fist husband; Herbert C. Johnson, second husband; Dever Yates, four brothers; Luther, Raymond, Billy Ray, and Emeray Williams, one sister; Patsy Robinson, and two grandchildren; Jennifer Young and Jeffery Williams, Jr.

Surviving are one son; Carl Johnson, three daughters; Juanita Clark, Susan Young, and Virginia Williams, four sisters; Debbie Musick, Brenda Murray, Lynnette Williams, and Doris Gillispie, three grandchildren; Danny Saunders, Eric Young, and Allison Lanford, and four great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 P.M. October 19, 2021, at Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home with Minister Barry Wester officiating; interment will be private.
