Shirley Lovell Keatts, age 75 of Axton, went home to be with the Lord on April 13, 2015 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. She was born June 16, 1939 in Pittsylvania County to the late Norman and Fleet Barker Lovell. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband Elvin Keatts on June 30, 2005.

Shirley was a graduate of Drewry Mason High School Class of 1957, and was a member of Axton Baptist Church. She worked for over 25 years as the Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director of Piedmont Regional Community Services Board.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, C. Rodney and Sandra Keatts of Axton, Grandson and wife, F. Donald and Kayla Keatts of Axton, one Great Grandson, Rylan Keatts of Axton.

Her funeral service will be Thursday April 16, 2015 in the Roselawn Chapel at 2:00 pm with Pastor Bob Yeaman officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday April 15, 2015 in the Roselawn Chapel, and at other times at the home of her son Rodney at 474 Centerville Road, Axton, VA 24054.
