Shirley Ann Jones Scearce, better known as 'Peanut", 77, of Axton, passed, Wednesday, May 14, 2025. She was born on December 11, 1947, to the late Tom Pete and Garnet McMillian Jones. She was retired from Bassett-Walker Knitting, and was a member of Mount Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a stepson; Timothy Lee Scearce.

Surviving are her husband, William Eugene "Gene" Scearce, two stepsons; David Wayne and Thomas Eugene Scearce, one stepdaughter; Teresa Ann Scearce, two brothers; Clyde and Melvin Jones and five step grandchildren, Morgan B, Richard Lee, Jesse Lynn, Jessica, and Thomas, Jr. Scearce.

Services to Honor Shirley will be held 12: Noon, Wednesday, May, 21, 2025, at Mount Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Pastor Gary Shupe officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to services beginning at 11:00 A.M.
