Obituary

Samuel Estes Riddle age 84 of 1897 Old Chatham Road, Martinsville died Friday Feb. 10, 2012 at his home. He was born Nov. 1, 1927 in Henry County to the late Samuel William and Martha Frances Finney Riddle. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife Vera Spencer Riddle.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, and was retired from American Furniture Co. with 42 years of service. He was a member of Woodland Heights Free Will Baptist Church, a former Assistant Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts, and a former member of American Legion Pannill Post #42.
He is survived by one son, David Lee Riddle of Martinsville, one brother Bob J. Riddle of Richmond, one granddaughter Christa Snow, and three great grandchildren, Lyndon Snow, Allison Snow, and Stoney Riddle.
The graveside service will be held Sunday Feb. 12, 2012 at 3:00 PM at County Line Christian Church Cemetery with Pastor Stanley Waddell officiating. Military Graveside Honors will be by the Martinsville Henry county Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Sunday Feb.12, 2012 in the Roselawn Chapel, and at other times at the home on Old Chatham Road.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4335 Cox Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
