Samuel Byrd McAlexander age 68 of Martinsville passed away Tuesday June 17, 2014 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. He was born August 20, 1945 in Patrick County to the late Peter Wesley and Mary East McAlexander. In addition to her parents, he was also predeceased by five brothers, Roy, Melvin, Moir, John and David Louis McAlexander, and three sisters, Mabel Lawless, Louise and Rebecca McAlexander.

Mr. McAlexander has been disabled his entire life.

He is survived by one niece, Carolyn McAlexander, three nephews, Danny, Matthew, and Jerry McAlexander, and his special friend and caregiver, Relda Shelton.

The Memorial service will be Thursday June 19, 2014 at 12:00 noon in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Kirk Montgomery, and Charles Craven officiating. Inurnment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
