Sam Henry "Peanut" Clark age 84 of Martinsville died Friday May 11, 2012 at his home. He was born June 15, 1927 in Bassett to the late Jess and Ada Purdy Clark. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife Stella Clark in 2002, two brothers, Roy C., and Elmo Clark, and two sisters, Myrtle Lorene Clark and Sue Stone.
He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Collinsville, and retired from American Furniture Co. with over 36 years of service.
He is survived by two sons, Lawrence "Lonnie" Clark of Bassett, and Jesse Clark of Martinsville, four daughters, Rita Pruitt of Martinsville, Martha Beheler of Collinsville, Florence Dix of Axton, and Darlene Purdy of Bassett, three sisters, Verna Shelor of Stanleytown, Jean Edwards of Deer Park, Texas, and Ellen Clark of Martinsville, nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Tuesday May 15, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Mountain View Baptist Church in Collinsville with Pastor Charles Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday May 14, 2012 in the Roselawn Chapel from 6 to 8:00 PM.
