Sam "Samuel" Eugene Bennett, 75, of Hardy, VA. passed Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Sam was born on December 28, 1949, to the late Moncie and Margaret Dawson Bennett. During Sam's professional career, he worked as a Sheriff's deputy, and later became Sheriff while living in Florida, then after leaving law enforcement worked as an insurance agent, then prior to retiring, worked for Kroger.

Surviving are his wife, Lois Montgomery Bennett, two sons, Jamie and Jeremy Bennett, two stepsons: Kevin and Chad Warren, one daughter, Jennifer Bennett-Villareal, one sister, Rebecca B. Poff, and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, October 30, 2025, in Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home with Director Kelly G. Ratcliff, officiating, interment will be in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services beginning at 12:00 Noon.
