Sallie Lea Gatewood Ford age 67 of 118 Joppa Road, Ridgeway, died Tuesday September 11, 2012 at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden, NC. She was born August 21, 1945 in Henry County to the late Bobby Price and Belva Shorter Gatewood. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her sister Mary Ann Gatewood.
She was a graduate of Drewry Mason High School Class of 1963, and was a longtime member of Ridgeway Church of Christ. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert Webster Ford of the home, three sons and daughter in laws Leon and Martha Ford of Stokesdale, NC, Doug and Angie Ford of Stokesdale, NC and Tony Ford of Ridgeway, two sisters, Millie Sharpe and Lena Laprade of Ridgeway, and four grandchildren, Matthew Lee Ford, Katie Brooke Ford, Levi Zane Ford, and Jonathan Wade Ford all of Stokesdale, NC.
The funeral service will be Thursday September 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Roselawn Chapel with Evangelist John Berlin and Evangelist Bob Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Wednesday September 12, 2012 in the Chapel at Roselawn, and at other times at the home on 118 Joppa Road, Ridgeway.
