Ruby Shelton Merriman, age 91, of Martinsville, passed away on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 at Sovah Hospital in Martinsville. She was born April 6, 1926 in Mt. Airy, NC to the late Walter S. Shelton and Fannie Childress Shelton Bass. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, William Tabor Merriman, her son, Robert Brent Merriman and her three sisters, Margaret Kerley, Edith Jones, and Barbara Ayers.

Ruby was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church, a high school graduate, and a beautician until retiring. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be Tuesday Feb. 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Phillip Woods officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park. Condolences may be shared with the family through this online guestbook.
