Rosemary "Polly" Holley Ramsey went to be with Jesus, her Lord and savior on Sunday, October 5 after a long illness. She was born March 30, 1940 to Johnnie Douglas Holley of Blue Ridge Manor, Martinsville, and the late Pansy Vivian Holley.
Polly is survived by her son Lee (Andrea) Ramsey of Orland, FL and daughter, Lisa (Kevin) Garon of Charlotte, NC, eight grandchildren, Drew (Rachel), Sean, Eric, and Jenna Ramsey as well as Jordan, Jacob, Joshua and Johnniegrace Garon, and one great grandson, Liam Ramsey who brought Polly great joy on his recent visit. Polly is also survived by a very special and loving friend, Gary Martin of Manassas, Virginia.
Polly loved her family dearly, including her toy poodle Teddy Bear, who never left her side. Those who knew Polly in her last year of life can testify that she was transformed into a faith filled woman, relying strongly on prayer and scriptures and proclaiming "It is well", regardless of how she felt. Polly will be remembered for her exuberant love and thoughtfulness, and gift giving. She leaves her family a legacy in having fought the good fight of faith, and finished the race strong. We will miss you Polly.
Her Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home. Burial rites will be private. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to her service in the chapel of Roselawn.
Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home is serving the Ramsey family.
