Ronald "Ron" James Gardner, 71, of Martinsville, transitioned to his heavenly home on Monday, January 12, 2026. Ron was a retired minister who faithfully served the Lord and his community for many years. He retired as pastored of Clearview Baptist Church, in Martinsville. Clearview Baptist changed their name to Hope Church, where Ron served as Elder. His life was marked by steadfast faith, compassion, and devotion to sharing God's word. He was preceded in death by his parents, Woody and Della Hollandsworth Gardner; and his brothers, Cecil Gardner, Larry Gardner, Maurice Gardner, and Eddie Gardner.

He is survived by his sister, Bonnie Gardner (Ronald Heath); his sister-in-law, Susan Gardner; his nephews, Josh Gardner (Heather) and Adam Gardner; his nieces, Jenny Douglas (Michael) and Roxie Smericki (Randy); and his special friend, Martha Jean Brown.

Ron will be lovingly remembered for his deep love and unwavering devotion to the Lord.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hope Baptist Church, located at 631 Clearview Drive, Martinsville. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Clint Conner officiating. Burial will take place at Roselawn Burial Park.
