Rodney Lee Riggs age 62 passed away on Thursday June 2, 2016 at his residence in Bassett. He was born Dec. 14, 1953 in Bluefield, WV to Gilbert Thomas Riggs, Jr. of Martinsville, and the late Edith Marie Seay Riggs. Rodney was predeceased by his Mother, and his spouse, Harrell Lynne Brown Riggs in 1997.

Rodney was of the Methodist faith, and had been a self-employed carpenter.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his son Michael Riggs of Bassett, two daughters, Angela Riggs, and April Ross both of Princeton, WV, three brothers, Gilbert T. Riggs, III of Ridgeway, Dennis Riggs of Myrtle Beach, SC, and David Riggs of Collinsville, two sisters, Sydney Ramsey and Barbara Jean Toler both of Collinsville, six grandchildren, Amber Ross, D'Anthony Hunter, Ashanti Hunter, and Brandie Mullins all of Princeton, WV, Austin Murray and Haley Lynne Riggs of Bassett.

The Service of Remembrance for Rodney will be Monday June 6, 2016 at 1:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the Chapel. Online condolences may be entered at www.roselawnchapelfuneralhome.com.
