Robert Lee Neal, age 80, of 241 Station Drive, Martinsville, died on April 11, 2011 at his residence. He was born on April 18, 1930 in North Holston, VA to the late Charles and Mattie Bise Neal. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Mary Hoover Neal in 2001, eight brothers, James, Sam, William, John, Phillip, Brown, Albert and Carl Neal, and three sisters, Gertrude Frye, Josie Olinger and Frank Neal.
He was a member of One Accord Baptist Church and had worked at the Wilson Quarry and at Carver Memorial Gardens before retiring.
He is survived by three daughters, Margaret Neal, Wilma Sands and Faye Patton all of Martinsville, one son, Blake Neal of Martinsville, one brother, Jack Neal of Maryland, and four grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at One Accord Baptist Church with Pastor Phillip Woods officiating the service. Entombment will follow in the Roselawn Mausoleum with Military rites by the Martinsville/Henry Co. Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 15, 2011at the church from 7-9 p.m. and at other times at the home on Station Drive.
