Robert Green Hall age 96, formerly of Bassett, went to be with the Lord Tuesday May 31, 2016 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart. He was born October 7, 1919 in Ashland, WV to the late Bunyan J. and Lela Wright Hall. In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by his wife, Clara Elizabeth Sink Hall in 2009, brothers, Euel, Fred, and Albert Hall, and his sisters, Lou McBride, Effie Bowling, Violet Greer, Lola Hodges, and Verda Hall.
Mr. Hall was of the Baptist faith, and was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Navy where he rose to the rank of Seaman 1st Class. He retired from American furniture Co. where he worked as an Assistant Foreman for many years.
He is survived by his son Roger Lee Hall of Bassett, three daughters, Faye Turner of Oak Level, Betty Turner and Sharon Lawson of Bassett, fourteen grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and five great, great, grandchildren. The family wishes to add their special thanks to Pastor Leonard Hall for being a friend to Mr. Hall, and for leading him to the Lord.
The graveside service will be Thursday June 2, 2016 at 1:00 pm in Roselawn Burial Park with Pastor Leonard Hall officiating. Interment will follow with graveside military honors by the Martinsville Henry County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Thursday June 2, 2016 in the Roselawn Chapel, and at other times at the home of Mr. Halls' daughter Sharon Lawson, 219 Applegate Lane, Bassett.
