Robert Leonard Clark, age 94, of 264 Trail Drive, Bassett, died on October 26, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Franklin County to the late Jack and Alice Moore Clark on August 24, 1917. In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by his first wife, Gracie Clark in 1988,by a brother, Johnny Holley, a sister, Della Setliff, a step-son, Cleonard Lewis, and two step-daughters, Dorothy Hypes and Marie Philpott.
He was a member of Thomasson Heights Baptist Church. He was a Farmer and did Construction work before retiring.
He is survived by his wife Wilmoth Clark of the home, a son, James Leonard Clark of Bassett, three step-sons, Stanford W. Conner of Collinsville, Larry L. Conner of Georgia, and Ernest A. Conner of Stoneville, NC, a daughter, Velvie Byrd of Bassett, two step-daughters, Bonnie Hall and Judy Williams both of Bassett, five grandchildren, twenty step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, twenty-two step-great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Rev. Doby Salmons and Rev. Leo Conner officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. on Friday before the service in the chapel of Roselawn.
