Robert "Bob" Eugene Ray, age 83, of Martinsville, went to be with the Lord on January 11, 2017 at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Pulaski on March 03, 1933 to the late Leonard Joseph and Nellie Worrell Ray. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Jackson (Joe) Ray and Sherman Edward (Ed) Ray, his sisters, Alene Hopkins, Nancy Philpott and Patsy Hendricks.

Bob was a faithful member of Rich Acres Baptist Church, and had worked at American and Pulaski Furniture in the finishing warehouse repairing furniture. He loved the Lord, loved his family and loved playing bluegrass gospel music. He also enjoyed watching westerns and wrestling on TV. Bob was also a member of the National Guard and Army Reserve.

Bob is survived by his "special niece" Teresa and husband Mike Tipton of Martinsville and many other nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Hughes officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park with military honors presented by the Martinsville Henry Co. Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 on Tuesday before the service at Roselawn.
