Richard G. Hopkins, III, of Martinsville passed away Friday February 11, 2022, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC., Richard was born September 10, 1948, to the late Richard G. and Virginia Janney Hopkins. Richard served in the United States Navy, attended First Assembly of God of Martinsville and was an avid hunter. Richard is survived by his wife; Melinda Elaine Blankenship Hopkins, one daughter, Misty Austin, one step-daughter, Christina Blankenship, one step-son, Jonathan Blankenship, four sisters; Brenda Clark, Betty Hammock, Dale Hopkins and Marie Flanagan, one step-grandson, Jace Blankenship and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday February 19, 2022, at First Assembly of God in Martinsville with Pastor Joe Nunley officiating, interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park with full military honors provided by the Martinsville-Henry County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
