Peggy Reaves Barker, age 84 of Axton, passed away on June 27, 2017 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. She was born in Halifax County to the late Jesse Finch and Vergie Garrett Reaves on October 19, 1932. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Andrew L. Barker, Sr. in 2005, two brothers, and three sisters.

She was a member of Axton Baptist Church, a graduate of Halifax County High School, and the owner/operator of Peggy's Mobile Home Park.

She is survived by her son, Andrew L. Barker, Jr. and wife Deborah of Axton, her daughter, Susan B. Edwards and husband Chris of Belews Creek, NC, four sisters, Gladys Simmons of Richmond, Mary Irby of South Boston, Joyce Moore and Hilda Thomas both of Talbott, TN, six grandchildren, Courtney Barker of Boston, MA, Alex Barker and wife Stephanie of Richmond, Morgan Barker of Falls Church, Mackenzie Dziedzic and husband Logan of Birmingham, AL, Madison Edwards and Grant Edwards both of Belews Creek, NC.

Her funeral service will be Friday June 30, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel with Rev. Tony Lundy officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
