Obituary

Patsy Marlene Hill Wray passed away on May 23, 2026 in Dallas, TX at the age of 88. She was born in Thomasville, NC to Alma Irene Gurley and John Paul Hill. The daughter of an upholsterer, she moved around North Carolina and southern Virgina before settling in Martinsville, VA with her mother and father. She married Warren Allen Wray in 1966. She was a dedicated wife and mother to three children. She was an instrumental partner with Allen in building businesses and kept them organized and running smoothly. Her strength helped her raise three children as the wife of a pilot. She loved the artistic side of life. She was a great seamstress and sewed many of her own stylish dresses and many of her children's outfits. She played the piano and learned how to craft dolls. As a collector, she took to making her own dolls, sewing the intricate clothes of victorian era dresses, molding their bodies in a kiln and painting their bodies in a variety of styles. She became a master of the craft. She had a deep soul, and as an avid reader, liked to converse and discuss a variety of topics. She loved walks on the beach and looked forward to the annual trip to Myrtle Beach with the grandkids. She is survived by her sister in law, Vicky Turner and husband Robert, three children, John Wray, Rachel Wray, and Jacob Wray, as well as their spouses, Geana Wray, Vance Harrison, and Molly Wray, and grandchildren Jaykob Owens, Michael Owens, Ava Wray, Jack Eliason, Max Eliason, Isabella Nehmer, Lillian Wray, and John Allen Siakale Wray
