Norine James Perdue, age 72, of Martinsville passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017 at the Ashland Nursing Home. She was born in Martinsville to the late Harry James and Eva Foster Hobson on July 6, 1944. She was also preceded in death by her husband Harry Cletus Perdue, and one sister, Marion Pauline James.
She was a member of Villa Heights Baptist Church where she was involved in many programs including the Women On Mission. She was also a coach for 15 years with YABA Bantam Bowling League. She had worked for over 40 years as a bookkeeper with Allen Wright's Bookkeeping as well as many other local businesses. She graduated from Martinsville High School, Class of 1962.
She is survived by her two sons, Keith (Jessica) Perdue of Martinsville and Daryl (Valerie) Perdue of Fredericksburg, two sisters, Barbara Laveri of Mechanicsville, VA and Gatha Eames of Greeneville,TN, and five grandchildren, Ashley Gusler-Perdue, Dylan Perdue, Lindsey Gusler-Perdue, Kathryn Grace Perdue, and Landon Perdue and one step-granddaughter SummerNeal.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Villa Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Keith Spangenberg officiating the service. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 7-9:00 p.m. at Villa Heights Baptist Church.
