Nita Jean DeHart Ball age 79 of Rocky Mont and formerly of Collinsville, died Friday Nov. 23, 2012 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born July 31, 1933 in Henry, VA to the late Clyde and Myrtle Stone DeHart. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her granddaughter Kristin Ball, two brothers, Bobby and Garland DeHart, and one sister Linda Morris.
She was a graduate of Henry High School, worked at Leggetts/Belk Department Store for over 20 years, and was a member of Stone Memorial Christian Church.
She is survived by her spouse, Virgil L. Ball of Collinsville, one daughter, Cynthia Keith of Collinsville, two sons, Wesley Ball and Kelly Ball both of Henry, three brothers, Richard DeHart of Bassett, Billy DeHart of Callaway, Letcher DeHart of Collinsville, two sisters, Lovelene Wade of Martinsville, Marie Cook of Eden, eight grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Monday Nov. 26, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Tim Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the Roselawn Chapel, and at other times at the home of Lindsay Dickerson, 46 Bowles Road, Collinsville.
