Neva Wood Morrison age 89, formerly of 715 Forrest St., Martinsville, died Wednesday September 7, 2011 at Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville. She was born March 10, 1922 in Hiwassee, GA to the late Hubbert "Hub" and Bertha Kimsey Wood. In addition to her parents she was preceeded in death by her husband, James L. Morrison, two daughters, Ann Stewart and Janice Woody, and four sisters, Bonnie Howington, Opal Miller, Ann Worley and Evelyn Wilborne.
She was a member of the Church at Mercy Crossing. She had worked for Bassett-Walker in the packing room.
She is survived by two sons, Norris Allen and Kimsey Allen both of Commerce, GA, a sister, Sue Lester of Thomasville, NC, nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Her service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Wood officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Burail Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 09, 2011 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn.
