Moncie Eugene Bennett, age 93, of Grayson Street, Martinsville, died on Friday, November 01, 2013 at the Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. He was born in Pittsylvania Co. on August 11, 1920 to the late Earnest and Elizabeth Simpson Bennett. In addition to his parents he preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Dawson Bennett in 2007, two sisters, Frances Joyner and Virginia Wray.

He was a member of Wilson Street Pentecostal Holiness Church and had retired from E.I. DuPont. He was a WWII veteran with the U.S. Army.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 04, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Hill officiating the service. Interment will follow with military honors presented by the Martinsville Henry Co. Veterans Honor Guard in the Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service on Monday.

He is survived by a son, Sam Bennett of Martinsville, a daughter, Becky Poff of Ridgeway, five grandchildren, Jamie Bennett and Jennifer Bennett both of Lakeland, FL, Jeremy Bennett of Mobile, AL, Tracy Poff of Henry and Ricky Poff of Ridgeway, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
