Moir Griggs Hairfield age 75 of Critz went home to be with the Lord on Thursday March 29, 2018 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 25, 1942 in Henry County to the late Charlie Leftwich and Alma Davis Griggs Hairfield.

Moir was a member of Gospel Baptist Church, graduted from Drewry Mason H.S. Class of 1961, he attended Elon and VPI where he studied mathematics. Moir was a member of the US Army where he rose to the rank of SP5. Moir started working in the financial field with GMAC, and then he spent over 30 years as a leader in the banking community. He retired as manager at American National Bank.  Moir, an avid golfer, and Gene Chaney were instrumental in starting the Tri-County Senior Men's Golf League.

He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Jo Anne L. Hairfield of the home, one daughter and son in law, Sami H. and Randy Moody of Greenville, SC, two grandchildren, Randle Griggs Moody and Ann Elise Moody of Greenville, SC.

Moir's funeral service will be Monday April 2, 2018 at 12:00 noon in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Payton Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park with military honors presented by the Martinsville Henry County Veterans Honor Guard.
