Mildred Lea Higgins Tuggle, 91, passed away on November 15, 2018 at Blue Ridge Nursing Home, Martinsville.  She was born September 6, 1927 in North Wilkesboro, NC to the late Gentry McKinley Higgins and Dora Adams Higgins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herman Tuggle, her daughter, Jeronna Tuggle and her brother Charlie M. Shumate.

She worked at DuPont and Continental Can Co. She served in the Nurses Corps at the end of WWII in Baltimore, MD. She was a member of Mercy Crossing Church.

She is survived by sons, James (Michelle) Tuggle and Michael Tuggle both of Roanoke, sisters, Virginia Ferguson, Sinia Hutcherson and Belva Clay all of Martinsville.

Her graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 2:30 PM in the Roselawn Burial Park with David Sparks officiating the service.
