Mary Jane Pedigo age 80 of the Golden Living Center in Martinsville died Tuesday August 28 2012 at the Center. She was born January 28 1932 in Fieldale to the late Dennis Clay "D.C." and Ola Bowyer Pedigo. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by one brother Clay "D.C." Pedigo, Jr., and one sister Sarah Alice P. Dyer.
She was a graduate of Bassett High School and Columbia College in Washington, DC, where she received a teaching degree. She was an elementary school teacher for 35 years in NC, AR, TN, and CA. She was a Charter Member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Martinsville.
She is survived by four brothers, David Herman Pedigo of Bassett, John Albert Pedigo of Martinsville, James Lawrence Pedigo of Fieldale, and Paul Rucker Pedigo of Troutdale, VA, and numerous nieces and nephews in Henry County.
The funeral service will be Friday August 31, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Daniel Royo officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the Chapel, and at other times at the home of her brother David Pedigo, 750 Melrose Drive, Bassett, VA.
