Obituary

Mary K. Boehm Gillam age 89 of Martinsville died Tuesday July 24, 2012 at Pioneer Hospital of Patrick County. She was born May 30, 1923 in Jasper, IN. to the late Sylvester and Minnie Seger Berger. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased, her first husband, Richard G. Boehm, her second husband Benjamin H. Gillam, two brothers, Odilo Berger and Tony Berger, and two sisters, Helen Bath and Anna Marie Otto.
She was a graduate of Jasper High School in Indiana. She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Martinsville and St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church in Shallotte, NC. She was a well known radio personality for over 26 years, and had her own show on WMVA called "Mary in the Morning", and she was Business Professional Woman of the year in 1976. After moving to Shallotte, NC, she volunteered for 14 years at the Brunswick Novant Medical Center.
She is survived by one daughter, Janice B. Williams of Martinsville, two sons, Richard G. Boehm, II of Richmond, and Jeffery Scott Boehm of Richmond, two brothers, James Berger of Indianapolis, IN and William Berger of Muncie, IN, two sisters, Margaret Ann Holler of Terre Haute, IN and Betty Keller of Louisville, KY, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:00 AM Friday July 27, 2012 at St. Josephs Catholic Church with Father Mark White officiating. Inurnment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
