Marvin Lemly Biggs

Marvin Lemly Biggs, 86, of Spencer, Virginia, passed away Wednesday.

Services will be held Saturday, August 18, at 10:00 a.m. at Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home with burial following in the Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will follow at the gravesite.

Marvin retired from Pulaski Furniture Company with more than 40 years of devoted service where he was the lumber yard supervisor. During that time, he personally selected each piece of wood for the company and lovingly oversaw the process to the factory from start to finish.

He was a member and deacon of Old Well Christian Church and a charter member of the Horsepasture Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as treasurer for many years.

Marvin was the son of the late James Lemly and Virgie Hubbard Biggs.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn Biggs, Frances Ann Biggs, Edith Edwards, Marie Pickerel, and Clemmie Sebastian, and brother, Tommy Biggs.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 66 years, Iris Wilson Biggs; daughter, Teresa Biggs Evans (Michael), of Durham, N.C.; son, Brian Biggs (Jennifer), of Clarksburg, M.D.; grandchildren, Allison Moore Pridgen, Dane William Moore (Sarah), Dillon Lee Biggs, Parker Russell Biggs, and Greyson Alexander Biggs; great-grandchildren, Harper Adam Pridgen and Miles Allie Pridgen; and sister, Lucille Wilson, Ridgeway, Va.
