Marjorie Joyce Anderson age 87 of Axton passed away Monday, August 3, 2015 at Blue Ridge Rehab. She was born May 29, 1928 in North Carolina to the late Robert and Queenie Martin Joyce. She was predeceased by her husband, James W. Anderson, Sr. and a brother James L. Joyce, and sisters Aileen J. Bryant and Gertrude J. Purdy.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She previously had worked at Pannill Knitting Co. and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her sons James W. Anderson Jr. and David Anderson, daughter Linda A. Langley, brothers Donald R. Joyce, Robert L. Joyce Jr, and Michael G. Joyce. One sister Dorothy J. Hairfield, grandchildren, Mark Anderson, Carrie Anderson, David R. Anderson, Brian Anderson, Jennifer L. Jones, and Amanda Devine. Great grandchildren Shawn Shearing, Thomas Dylan Fowler, Isabella Devine, and Nathan Devine.

The funeral service will be Thursday August 6, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Dennis Wingate officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service in the Chapel. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
