Marion Thomas George, 85, of Martinsville passed away Thursday March 19, 2020, at his home. He was born in Bassett, to the late Joseph Graham George and Bertha Agnes Bishop.  He retired from E.I. DuPont, was a founding member of Preston Wesleyan and a member for 47 years with this Preston Ruritan Club.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son-in-law, Sam Coleman.  Surviving are his wife of sixty three years, Patricia Field George, two daughters and a son-in-law; Linda Coleman and Rhonda and Mike Eggleston, one brother, Michael George and one sister, Lillie Ann Arnold, five grandchildren, and five great grandchild.  A private graveside service will be held Tuesday March 24, 2020, in Roselawn Burial Park with Minister Marty Furrow officiating. Interment will follow. The family has requested that memorials be made to the Preston Wesleyan Church 1540 Preston Road, Martinsville, Va. 24112. Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home and Burial Park is entrusted with arrangements.
