Marie Foster Clarke, age 87, formerly of Martinsville, died on January 24, 2012 at the Brandon Oaks Nursing & Rehab Center in Roanoke. She was born in Patrick County on July 19, 1924 to the late Larkin Benjamin and Myra Anthony Foster. In addition to her parents she was preceeded in death by her husband Nathan Clay Clarke in 1995, two brothers, Woodrow Foster and Conrad Foster and one sister, Virginia Plaster.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She had graduated from Hardin Reynolds High School and attended Perry Business College. She retired with over 30 years service with E.I. DuPont.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Livengood of Roanoke, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Her memorial service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Rev. Sarah Whitmore officiating the service. Inurnment will be in the Roselawn Burial Park.
