Margaret Franklin "Polly" Mattox formerly of Martinsville, and until recently a resident of Fork Mountain Rest Home, passed away Feb. 8, 2015 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Margaret was born Sept. 6, 1931 in Franklin County to the late William Lafayette and Annie Carson Hodges Franklin. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years, Clyde D. Mattox in 2014, step father Ralph M. "Big Ralph" Hodges, four brothers, Jesse Franklin, Claude Franklin, Hooker Franklin, and Ralph Franklin, and two sisters, Hazel F. Hancock, and Virginia F. Hodges. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.

Mrs.Mattox was a Charter Member of Chatham Heights United Methodist Church, and was involved in numerous ministries of the church over the years. She was a graduate of Franklin County High School.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday Feb. 11, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Roselawn Chapel with Rev. Marshall Banks officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the Roselawn Chapel.
