Maize Brown Cole, age 88, of 3689 Chatham Rd, Martinsville, died on February 06, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville/H-C. She was born on May 8, 1921 in Whitewood, VA to the late Thomas and Mollie Horn Brown. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Woodrow Wilson Cole in 1982, one son, Truman H. Cole, four brothers, Buford, Clayton, Hubert and Kenneth Brown, four sisters, Ermie Horn, Bertha Brown, Laverna Smith and Ruby Brown, one grandson, Eugene Payne and one great-great granddaughter, Alexia Brooks.
She was a homemaker and a member of Church of Christ, Chatham Road.
She is survived by one son, James W. Cole of Martinsville, three daughters, Katherine Blankenship and Dianna Payne both of Martinsville and Virginia Ruth Daniels of Radford, twenty-seven grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Minister Jack Nunn and Minister Bob Byrd officiating the service. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 11, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn and at other times at the home of her daughter, Dianna Payne at 3689 Chatham Road, Martinsville.
