Mae Seay Hancock, 97 of Collinsville, died Sunday, June 9, 2019 at her home.
Born October 19, 1921 in Henry County, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Lizzie Oliver Seay. In addition to her parents Mae was preceded in death by her husband Harry Graham Hancock; daughter, Nancy Lee Mays; son, James "Larry" Hancock; and granddaughter, Jennifer Lee Hale.
Those left to remember Mae's smile include her daughter, Jo Ann Nichols and her husband Jim; son, Robert "Bobby" Hancock; daughter-in-law, Shirley Hancock; grandchildren, Lisa Baldo and husband Mike, Ludy Scouras and husband Pete, Tony Hancock and wife Gail, Mark Hancock and wife Lee, Rob Hancock, and Susan Martin. She will also be missed by nine great grandchildren.
Mae was the last surviving original charter member of Smith Memorial United Methodist Church. She retired in 1977 from Eagle stores; having served as manager for many years. Upon her retirement she enjoyed time with her husband and grandchildren gardening and planting flowers around their home.
A funeral service will be conduced 2:00pm Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home with pastor Kameron Wilds officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park's Sanctuary of Hope.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00pm prior to the service.
