Lura Myrtle Johnson Trotter, age 78, of Martinsville, died on December 28, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. She was born in Pittsylvania County to the late Henry and Rose Bell Deshazo Trotter on March 25, 1936. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ernest Lawson Johnson, her sisters, Alice Hairston, Katie Hairston and Ruby Floyd.

She was a member of Rufuge Temple and had worked for American Furniture and CSI Services in Ridgeway.

She is survived by her sons, Carmara J. Diop of Martinsville, James T. Johnson of Los Angeles, CA and Michael Rena Johnson of Martinsville and three grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Preston officiating the service and interment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park. Pallbearers for the service will be Tyrone Bradley, Chris Bradley, Albert Dawson, Stedman Hairston and Lamont Ramey. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel of Roselawn.
