Lucy Martin Washburn, age 86, formerly of 136 Homewood Drive,Bassett, died on April 13, 2011 at the Blue Ridge Rehab Center, Martinsville. She was born on August 03, 1924 in Patrick County to the late Flemon S. and Nancy Wright Martin. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Henry Washburn, three brothers, Moir, Roy and Coy Martin, and three sisters, Ruby Harbour, Pearle Martin and Geneva Haynes.
She was of the Baptist faith and was a Homemaker.
She is survived by her two daughters, Carole W. Wall and Madeline Washburn both of Martinsville, a sister, Maude Scales of Bassett, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren cemetery with Minister Tim Hunt officiating the service.
