Lucille O'Dell Cox Lawless, age 97 of Martinsville went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 2, 2018 at Morehead Hospital in Eden. She was born in Patrick County on February 27, 1920 to the late Ernest and Texas Martin O'Dell. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Joe Cox, James Grogan and Hobert Lawless, a son, Wayne Cox, brothers, Alvin, Cecil, Harry, and Lemley O'Dell, sisters, Goldie Hodge, Gladys Cardwell, Velda Hall, Mamie Coleman, and Dorothy Woods and a granddaughter, Melissa "Missy" Joe Hardie.
She attended One Accord Baptist Church and New Life Community Church. She had many jobs over the years including, driving a van for HCP&R, and working in the Henry County School Cafeterias, Jobbers for 40 years, Lacy's and Pannill's.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Hardie of Ridgeway, Step-Sons, Fred Lawless of Tazewell, Phillip Lawless of Maryland and her special caregivers, Mike and Kathy Lawless of Martinsville, a special daughter in law, Joan F. Conner of Martinsville, a grandson, Mitchell Wayne Cox of Critz, ten step grandchildren, and four step great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Woods and Rev. Terry Knighten officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Monday in the chapel of Roselawn.
