Lorene Annie Mabe Wood, 91, of Martinsville, passed Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at her home.  Lorene was born December 8, 1933, to the late Luther Harold, Sr., and Dovie Plasters Mabe.  She spent her adult life being devoted to taking care of her youngest daughter, Patty. Lorene was of the Holiness faith, and attended Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church until becoming unable to attend. In addition to her parents, Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, James Otis Wood, brother, Luther Harold "L.H." Mabe,. Jr., and two sisters, Shirley Hayden, and Inez Cauley.

Surviving are one son, James Larry Wood, three daughters; Gloria Wood Martin, Carol Faye Morton, and Patty Lou Wood, one brother, Ronnie Mabe, and two sisters; Margaret Hylton, and  Iris McNeil, six grandchildren: Randy J. Martin, Renee Martin, Robin Martin, Gary Adams, Melinda Souther, and James Morton, nine Great Grandchildren and three Great-Great Grandchildren, along with several nephew and nieces.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home with Director Kelly G. Ratcliff officiating. Interment will be private in Roselawn Burial Park.  The Family will receive friends one hour prior to services beginning at 12:00 Noon.
